Moon River and all it portends...

Moon River and all it portends...

I was VERY restless last night. The song, Moon River kept playing in my head...

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way
Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way
Doesn't it seem like we are all drifting at times? Rushing with no destination in mind? Busy taking care of 'things' (what 'things' are so important that we have forgotten how to BE?)
Me too.
However, and it is a BIG HOWEVER, drifting is necessary at times. It allows one to catch their breath, float along and dream. Dream of where you wish to be. Dream of how to get there. Dream of who is involved. Society, as a whole, has pretty much condemned daydreaming as not productive.
Pashaw!
Daydreaming is the stuff of what makes us tick. If one is soooo busy that they can't see the forest for the trees, how can they possibly plan for their future? How can they get ahead of the curve let alone be a leader in anything?
Rainbows are waiting around the bend, in all their full regalia. Pots of gold are there. Will there be a leprechaun too? That all depends on you. What is your dream? Who are your helpers? Friends? Supporters?
Those two drifters? It's you and your guardian angel. They are with you every single step of the way. It's up to you to allow their help, love, encouragement and yes even the periodic wing slap.
Take time today and every day to drift. To BE. You'll thank yourself.
