When a statue talks to you...are you crazy or...
This guy... what a boss! Never let anyone tell you inanimate objects, especially sacred ones, don't have an opinion.
Don't believe me?
Read on....
We were living in Massachusetts and a local store was going out of business. I had purchased a few sundry things there previously and simply loved the energy and her entire line of products. Everything was Asian, ancient and had an energy of being sacred behind it. A truly magical store and one I regret not seeing flourish.
Off I went to wander and explore; not intending to purchase a thing. It was more of a scouting expedition.
As I was meandering around the store, the statue below started yakking at me and yakking LOUDLY. It wanted to come home with me. I try, repeat try to be of the mindset that everything has a spot or a 'home' before purchasing especially one of this stature and energetic presence. I couldn't think of one right away, so I walked out. Yes I walked out initially without the statue.
BEFORE I got home, I thought of a great in the family room. That was an ideal spot! (or so I thought)
Turn around I did...
I entered the store and approached the statue. I swear it smiled at me! Yes, all these years later I still remember the event.
I purchased it and gently placed it in the back seat of the car and began driving home.
'By the way, I don't wish to be placed where you think. I want to go on the mantle.'
WHAT? Did that thing in the back seat just start talking to me?
'Yes, I did and I am going on the mantle.'
I now drop my mouth and start literally arguing with an inanimate object that is lying on the backset of my car.
'No, the mantle isn't wide enough for you.'
'I'm going on the mantle so I can bless all who enter.'
'Nice idea, but it's too narrow.'
'I'm going on the mantle.'
And this continued for the eight miles left of our journey home.
I placed it where I thought it ought to go. It didn't look right.
Where did it end up?
The mantle. It looked perfect there. Everybody loved it there and yes, it did indeed bless all who entered.
After we moved from that home, it then wished to be placed on top of a particular cabinet. It's a rather small cabinet and always finds a small wall to be up against. Buddha LOVES this set up. It/He LOVES the crystal it holds. It/He LOVES the candle holder in front.
When we moved from that house, much went into storage, including Buddha, cabinet and all. I have no idea who he argued with in the four years it was in storage, but that is their problem, not mine. We moved into our New Digs and once more a small wall was found for the small cabinet along with the crystal and candle and of course Buddha.
Peace and blessings reign once more and as the saying goes:
All is right with the world.
